For those of you choosing your team based on "being from Netherlands," Khalid Boulahrouz has just been acquired by Chelsea. He will be in London for his medical this weekend, should be official Sunday or Monday-ish.

...and what's a "minnion"?

:P

Your Squatney Athletic, out

Aaaahahahaha, gotta love how this stuff works sometimes. :D

Andreas Isaakson, proven Swedish international goalkeeper: 4.5 million.

Ben Foster, youngster who just completed his first full season: 5 million.

Er.....dubya tee eff?

At £4.5 million, I think Isaakson is complete steal.

Er, you just took the wrong guy! According to Aidy Boothroyd (the man you're in love with), Foster will be "England's number one -- and the best keeper on the planet." Surely the "best keeper on the planet" is worth .5 mil more? Or is Boothroyd merely a lot of talk?

Full story here.

Yes, but Van Der Sar costs 6 mil. I'm not sure you're following... :?

The key words in there are "will be". ;)

Right now, he is VERY inexperienced. Goalkeepers are all about experience - while a striker can come in at 17 and change the world, a keeper just isn't going to do that. Bearing in mind they often play to 36+, they probably peak at 30-31. :)

Foster WILL be good, indeed, but rating him .5 mill higher than a full Swedish international keeper is, right now, kinda amusing. :D

The initial league standings are set, but there is still everything to play for - as the old adage goes, it is a marathon, not a sprint.

Will Souljah's Marvels still be rocking the top of the table come Christmas? Will the Nosepickers be able to pick something out of the net other than the ball? Will Kril show some 5k1ll5? Will ONS USA be the dark horse, or the also rans?

Answer on a postcard to somewhere they'll never get read...

I'd just like to point out that Souljah's Marvels are actually TIED for first place with your dark-horse Notlob Wanderers. :P

Providing a standard for which others can aspire, I remain,

Congratz to Souljah for the early lead, but what the hell is up with Zuh and his magic crystal ball shennanigans? Wow, that's some real, "Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit outta my ass!"-quality football-pickin' there.

Although, perhaps Zuh will join me in asking...

HAS ANYONE SEEN PASCAL CHIMBONDA? Anyone? Bueller?...
Emu, is Chimbonda at your house? Once again, my supernatural ability to start imaginary players in fantasy leagues bites me in the butt... Does this guy really even play for Wigan? He's not listed on the team now, no one talked about him during the game, he's not injured, and he's ranked 19th on the BBC's Top 100 Premeir players, yet nowhere to be found today!

I read Tottenham had given up pursuing him and he was gonna stay with Wigan and the coach said he would certainly play him... Thanks for the big goose-egg, Wigan!

I burned my Wildcard on transfer penalties and changed out 3/4 of my squad -- too many no-shows and friggin' red cards. :?

Choosing to overtake from behind,

Lots o' luck involved, I would say, plus the fact that I have no real allegiance to a team or nationality and thus am not saying "hey, I'll have all DUTCH guys on my team," :P thereby depriving myself of perfectly good players from perfectly good other countries ...

I will also say that I'm really happy to have that rabbit outta my ass. :?

I called, but his mom said he had band practice.
