Stronghold Kingdoms

Currently in alpha status , Im playing this massively online strategy game based on the stronghold games.
Basic idea is to build defend your castle and manage resources. Its pretty casual (your guys carry on working when youve logged off)
but curiously additive. Its also not demanding on the old pc and its going to be free ( they hold to fund it through selling bonus cards)

Its in alpha at the moment but its pretty smooth (better than a lot of betas ive played in) so I suspect it will go beta soon.

the stronghold series was great so i'm definatly gonna keep my eyes on this one.

The downside about the stronghold games was their buggyness. I wonder if Firefly can handle a mmo... :O

Great point! I particulary recall the unplayable multiplayer due to lag/stuttering.

I know what you mean, but so far the alpha is looking very smooth but combat is a lot more basic.
This is definately geared more to he stratigic resource/village/castle building rather than combat.
At the moment the combat isnt hands on , its only send X troops to a castle postion their starting spots
and then watch the battle play out. You can't target/move the troops once the battles started.
I don't know if they have intentions to making it hands on , but I doubt it at the moment.
This is a bit of a downside but on the other hand it elimates lag/buggy problems which would
occur when you get 2000+ players playing.

The server so far seems pretty stable, and lag/bug wise its smooth as a babys bum.

The downside of this game for me so far is that its too addictive . I have to keep going back to the
PC every 10 minutes to check what my guys have been up and Im getting up an hour early in the morning
to set the days work for them before I go to work.
Suicide is PAINLESS. Whoops I was kidding...
