So about 2 weeks ago, I found out that a couple of people who I regularly played left 4 dead with have previously played Battlefield games and had ordered BC 2 so I decided to pre order it on steam and get early beta access.
This game is fun, even though theres only one map to judge from in the beta. It has dedicated servers, great physics and generally feels better to play than MW 2. It might simply be that in MW 2, I didn't play with anyone I knew whereas in BC 2, I play with a couple of people, but it generally feels more fun.
A few cool things about it that make it a better alternative to modern warfare 2:
Dedicated servers
Superior physics - Houses can be blown to the ground, trees get knocked over, sniper bullets are delayed when travelling long distances and take gravity into account
Vehicles are great. Can't fly the helicopter to save my life but getting into one with someone who can is great fun.
More room for strategy than MW 2
Squad system which allows 4 players per squad who can spawn next to each other. So if one person in a squad is closer to the enemy or behind enemy lines, the rest of the squad can spawn on that person
BC 2 also has some great moments. Its not that MW 2 doesn't have its moments, it does, its just that Ive had more adrenaline rushes in the 2 weeks of playing a 1 map beta than in all my time playing mw 2.
Couple of examples:
A few days ago I was playing on the side of defence in the ingame map. I was hiding in some tree's when a guy came down in a buggy at high speed. Just as he passed me, although at medium distance, I managed to shoot him with the sniper rifle and he fell off the buggy. Meanwhile the buggy got 2 wheels on part of the cliff (while still going at speed), flipped over and exploded while one of its tyres rolled across the screen.
Most recent example was today. We were on the attacking team and a mate of mine got into a tank. I spawned on him and became the passenger machine gunner. I mowed down the trees so he could get clearer shots of the objective buildings to cover our attacking team mates. I also gave team mates covering fire as well as watching out for enemies with RPG's, always calling them out and marking them (pressing q marks enemies, which allows other team mates to see their location).
Each time we got hit by an RPG, he would reverse so we were out harms way. He would then get out, as an engineer, and repair the vehicle while I remain on the machine gun giving covering fire against any attackers. As it worked out, we won the game, despite the enemy outnumbering us and having high ranks than us.
You don't get that experience in modern warfare 2

Seriously though my thing is fps and for the life of my spazzy fingers...lmao...I JUST CANT DO IT . I watch those mw2 gameplay vids on youtube and just think they must either have a keyboard or are cheatin bas****s. Got to hand it to Microsoft though, the durability of those xbox controllers is admirable, maybe is because I got carpets in the room
